Matthew’s journey into arboriculture began through a passion for working outdoors. After working as an outdoor instructor and developing a strong background in mountaineering and rock climbing, he discovered that tree surgery combined everything he enjoyed most—technical rope work, problem-solving, and working in the natural environment.

To begin his career in arboriculture, Matthew completed an intensive tree surgery course at Plumpton College before moving into full-time work within the industry. Over the past four years, he has worked alongside a number of well-established tree surgery companies across East Sussex, gaining extensive practical experience on a wide variety of projects. While he continues to work with trusted local businesses, Matthew Terry Tree Services represents the next step—offering that same professional standard of work directly to homeowners, landowners and businesses.
